Born in New Zealand, Carla Hananiah grew up with an active outdoors lifestyle, which encouraged an appreciation of the land. Her works are infused with her remembering's of playing in Pa's orchard, as nature's shadows lengthened into dusk. Clambering up over roughened branches merged touch with the enhanced scent of rich earth. A vivacity of freshness. An awareness of life. Within her painting studio, exploration reaches us through the physicality of paint. The result of her experimentation is a spontaneity which constantly surprises and delights her. Her focus is on capturing the light and colours of our southern lands, which evoke a sense of moodiness and the sublime.One of Carla's motivations to paint is to bring beauty and inspiration into people's environments and hearts. Other art mediums Carla works with are drawing, printmaking and photography.Currently living in Sydney, Carla graduated from the University of New South Wales with Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master in Art. Currently she is completing a Master of Fine Arts at UNSW majoring in painting landscapes.
